Charity Trailtrekking

Published On: 20-07-2010

The second annual Trailtrekker event was completed in style by staff from Topdental. The global event is organised by Oxfam International.

The trek involved walking 100 kilometres non-stop in less than 30 hours in teams of four. Over 160 teams from around the world started the race, which covers some of Yorkshires highest peaks over scenic Dales and rough terrain. Only 52 teams completed the event and the Topdental team managed fifth place overall in a time of only 20 hours 49 minutes. A team of professional cyclists achieved first place in only 17.10 hours.

Peter Tapper, Topdental’s managing director, was said to be delighted at the result and thanked his team for the tremendous effort.  ‘The Oxfam International event was a superbly organised high profile weekend and I would strongly advise joining this event next year. If you’re after a charity challenge that takes in some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the UK then look no further.’

Topdental has challenged others to complete this event as a team in less time than Topdental’s team, and will give £100 for every hour they can beat it by.
