Stirling Dental Care is a three-surgery mixed-income dental practice with circa 4,500 registered patients. It is located on Dunbarton Road in the city of Stirling.
The practice was previously owned by Jane Lang who decided to sell to exit from practice ownership.
Jane said, “I set the practice up as a squat in 2006 with a strong ethos of patient-centred high-quality dental care. Over the years, the practice has grown from a single-handed practice to three dentists and a hygienist. The private aspect of treatments has grown considerably not least as the dentists have all up skilled in advanced restorative treatments. The practice was relocated to provide a modern purpose-built facility with an additional surgery and storage space.
“I sincerely hope that the practice would continue as an independent practice upholding the same values of patient-centred care and quality dentistry with a fresh look at some aspects of the business from a younger enthusiastic owner.”
Following a confidential sales process with Joel Mannix head of dental at Christie & Co, it has been purchased by Christopher Black and Hamish Brown of Black & Brown Dental. It also owns Oakley Dental Practice in Dunfermline.
Christopher said, “Stirling Dental Care offered us the opportunity to purchase a modern, forward-thinking dental practice and this was the logical next step to expand the group. Stirling Dental Care is a well-established practice with a strong reputation within the community for providing patient-focused quality dental care. There is space within the current practice to expand the provision of dental care, and we intend to increase NHS registrations and provide all aspects of general dentistry within the practice.
“Black & Brown Dental strongly believes that quality dentistry should be readily accessible for all - a strong commitment to the NHS is at the cornerstone of this. We are looking to continue to expand our group over the coming years, and increasing the provision of NHS dentistry within the local communities we serve will be the foundations of this expansion.”
Joel said, “When Jane first approached me about selling her practice, she envisioned it going to an independent buyer whom she could work with as part of her exit strategy. Jane’s passion for dentistry remains strong but, after years of management, she wanted to transition the business to someone capable of taking the practice to the next level.
“After a brief period of marketing, we identified Christopher Black and Hamish Brown as buyers who are the next generation of local multi-site operators and perfectly align with Jane’s vision. I am glad we could alleviate some of the stress involved in selling a dental practice for Jane and manage the challenges that arose during the process.”
Stirling Dental Care was sold for an undisclosed price.
