Homeless and vulnerable people across the UK are receiving free bottles of mouthwash thanks to a charity partnership between CleanCert Hygiene Ltd (CHL) and Dentaid.
For an added Christmas cheer this year, CHL is donating a bottle of OraWize+ for distribution across Dentaid’s UK clinics for every bottle bought by dental professionals in November and December*.
The dental rinse is alcohol free and can be used before, during and after dental treatment. OraWize+ reduces oral microbial loads, and can also be used for dry sockets, endodontic and periodontal treatment. It is also non-cytotoxic so is ideal for use by the immunocompromised and vulnerable.
Dentaid’s mobile units visit night shelters, soup kitchens and hostels with volunteer dental professionals providing emergency treatment and oral health advice for people experiencing homelessness. Dentaid also runs dental clinics for refugees and asylum seekers, victims of domestic violence, fishing communities, people recovering from drug and alcohol addiction and retired military personnel.
“We are very grateful to CleanCert Hygiene for this generous donation, which means that each of our patients can be offered a bottle of mouthwash,” said Sue Smith, Dentaid’s UK development manager. “Our patients often say that using a mouthwash, in addition to brushing their teeth, would make them feel more confident. We already give every patient a toothbrush, toothpaste and interdental brushes, along with oral health advice, and it’s great they can now have dental rinse mouthwash too.”
