31 March 2020

A dental marketing company is offering practices access to free social media posts to advise patients on how to manage toothache at home during the Covid-19 crisis.

Shaz Memon is owner of Digimax. He said: 'Now is the time to educate your patients and be pro-active in helping manage emergency enquiries into the practice.

'I have created 10 social media posts that can work on Instagram and Facebook for dental teams to share guidance with patients on how to manage toothache at home, following the new Covid-19 guidelines.

You can use the posts exactly as they are, or feel free to add your branding. No permission is required.

Shaz added: 'Thanks must go to dentist Becky Davies for the source guidance, and Dr Nilesh Parmar for fact-checking. I was asked by a client on Saturday evening to help create some useful posts relating to emergency treatments with their patients. They had shown me some fantastic detailed social media posts Becky Davies had made. Using her information as a basis, I designed these 10 'Managing toothache at home' social media posts. By Sunday morning, I created the post designs and released them for everyone to use.'

Dentist Becky said: 'I see a lot of patients with toothache in practice, as I work in a very high needs area, and find that they are really surprised by the home care advice that I give them, as they aren't aware that there are some really basic things they can do at home to make a big difference, especially when it comes to ulcers, pericoronitis and bleeding gums.

'A lot of advice online is very difficult to read – lots of solid blocks of text that can be hard to get the information you want from them. Hopefully, this will make the advice more accessible for patients and reduce traffic to GDPs, 111, and A&E during this time.'
