Following its oversubscribed series educational workshops in 2015, Align Technology is hosting two aesthetic events on Friday, June 10, in London and Friday, June 17, in Birmingham for Invisalignproviders.

The aim of the day long meetings is to educate certified general dentists about methods for integrating the Invisalign system into their restorative portfolio with a specific focus on achieving success with Invisalign Lite and Invisaligni7. In addition, the company will be demonstrating the benefits for delegates and their patients of using treatment planning services and advanced digital technology during sessions on the iTeroelement intraoral scanner.

During the session, Invisalign experts will share best practice on how GDPs can integrate clear aligner therapy into their aesthetic dentistry and how they can use the Invisalign system to treat the most common malocclusion – crowding – which is found worldwide. The presentations and case study discussions will help delegates assess how to choose the right cases for Invisalign Lite and i7 and how to use the case evaluation services and tools Align Technology has developed.

The two plenary sessions will be presented by Moshen Tehranian who is practice principal of Dream Smile Dental Clinic, South London. He qualified from Carol Davila Dental Institute with distinction in 1998. Mohsen is one of few dentists in the UK to have achieved the prestigious Diamond Award from Align Technology having successfully completed over 2,000 Invisalign cases. He was also the first dentist in the UK to submit an Invisalign i7 case. Moshen is passionate about the latest dental technology and his was also one of the first practices to use the iTero scanner for his digital impression taking. This enabled him to provide better fitting aligners and increase production efficiency by saving valuable time, helping him develop his practice to the stage it has reached today.

Invisalign Lite and i7 are the two products in the Invisalign portfolio specifically designed for aesthetic correction and which are therefore most applicable for use by general dentists. Invisalign Lite is a product where treatment time is limited to seven months (14 aligners) and Invisalign i7 is intended to achieve results patients are looking for in as little as three months, without the inconvenience of traditional fixed braces. These two products are ideally suited to patients with minor malocclusions or those who have undergone orthodontic treatment in the past and have lapsed because of infrequent retainer wear.

The afternoon comprises three interactive sessions during which Brian Asselin, founder of Invisible Tx, will deliver an interactive workshop about treatment planning. Erico Pilapil will provide a detailed overview of the innovative functionality of ClinCheck Pro with 3D Controls – Align Technology’s latest breakthrough in digital treatment planning. Mohsen Tehranian will provide delegates with a hands-on iTero element workshop to initiate them into the world of digital scanning and the clinical benefits of starting Invisalign treatments with an iTero intraoral scan.
