The British Dental Association (BDA) has requested clarification from the CQC regarding significant delays to the registration process, which is frustrating many dental practice transactions. This comes after Dental Elite and Lily Head Dental Practice Sales brought to the attention of the BDA that registration delays currently stand at between 16 to 20 weeks.

It is indicated that approximately 79 per cent of practice sales in progress for a calendar year are stuck in a backlog of delayed transactions that could be adversely impacted by any CGT changes that may occur from March 3. Over 50 per cent of Dental Elite’s own transactions slated for completion this financial year have already been put back due to registration delays.

Dental Elite will continue to monitor the situation and provide further updates as they arise. Vendors are encouraged to seek advice and guidance from the expert team should they be concerned about the potential effects of CQC registration delays on their practice sale.
