Dentists who are keen to complement their knowledge of implant treatment planning can now learn about the fundamentals of cone beam CT scanning via a combination of online and in-person practical sessions. The blended learning is delivered by a specialist in dental and maxillofacial radiology and consultant from King’s College Hospital, London. Lee Feinberg offers a highly practical teaching style designed to help dentists read, interpret and report on CBCT scans with confidence.

Bookings are being taken for the Dental Routes Summer and Autumn CBCT learning programme. Levels one and two CBCT are suitable for general dental practitioners who refer patients for CBCT scans, and dentists who have completed implant training. The programme can also be a helpful refresher for any dental professional trained in the application of CBCT technology.

According to Dhaval Shah from Stony Dental Practice, Milton Keynes, “Planning is such an important part of any dental implantology workflow so attending the courses has been a massive step forward for me in my implant education journey.”

For maximum convenience, level one is offered on Zoom on either Saturday July 16 or Sunday August 7, and covers the fundamentals of CBCT imaging, including regulations, selection criteria and factors affecting image quality.

Through presentation of a range of cases and practical sessions, level two introduces students to key anatomical landmarks, image manipulation and interpretation. The second stage course is held in London on Sunday October 1. The small group format enables a high degree of teacher-student interaction.

Ana Paula de Oliveira Bowness from David Neal Dental in Langport has recently completed level two training. She says, “Lee Feinberg is incredibly knowledgeable and approachable. The highlight was being able to use the software and work with the images in 3D, but I also learned so much more about anatomy.”

Dentists can take advantage of a package discount for levels one and two by calling education coordinator Ruby Kenward on 07830 814625 or emailing hello@dentalroutes.org
