Following the announcement of the GDC’s (General Dental Council) new 12 member Council, recruitment is about to start for a member from Wales.

The GDC is the regulator of dental professionals in the UK.  Its role is to enhance patient safety, improve the quality of dental care and maintain public confidence in dental regulation.

The GDC aims to regulate in a way that is proportionate, accountable, transparent, consistent, targeted, and responsive to changing demands, risks and priorities.

It has recently appointed a new Chair and 10 Council members as part of a new, streamlined leadership system that will take effect from October 1, 2013. We have a vacancy for one further Council member.

To be eligible for this appointment you must be currently registered with the GDC and live or work wholly, or mainly, in Wales.

For this role, we are seeking an individual who is highly experienced in providing strategic direction, and committed to working constructively with the GDC’s Executive team in the interests of public protection.

Recruitment for this role will formally begin in mid-September, but anyone interested in applying can email Sarah Fearn at GatenbySanderson now. (sarah.fearn@gatenbysanderson.com)
