Effective for orthodontic patients

Very positive results have been found following a survey conducted by 30 per cent of delegates who attended the British Dental Association Conference earlier this year

Early trialists evaluated their AirFloss for thirty days and the survey results were beyond Philips’ expectations; 85 per cent would recommend it (to their patients, friends or colleagues); over 95 percent agree that AirFloss is easy to use (for their patients) and most pertinently nine out of ten believed that AirFloss will be effective for use with orthodontic patients – whether they were wearing fixed appliances or aligners.

The upgraded version of the Philips Sonicare AirFloss uses the same proprietary air and micro-droplet technology which dispenses rapid bursts of air and water droplets between teeth to remove plaque and bacteria. It removes up to five times more plaque than manual brushing alone and three out of four surveyed said AirFloss is easier to use than a leading oral irrigator.

The improved device has a new auto-burst function which provides a continuous stream of automatic pulses to clean between the teeth in less than 30 seconds (half the time of its predecessor). It also features a new nozzle to improve targeting between teeth and reduce any splash-back.  A new easy-to-fill reservoir can be filled with either mouth rinse or water and holds enough liquid for two uses and as a result of requests from dental professionals, the nozzles now come in different colours for easy identification for individual family members.
