Embrace the implant renaissance

22 June 2016
Volume 31 · Issue 6

BioHorizons forthcoming symposium – ‘A Contemporary Renaissance Awakening: Aesthetics in Implant Dentistry’ – will lead the way in renewed thinking in implant dentistry to offer dentists the very latest evidence based information alongside practical guidance.

BioHorizons is delighted to announce that its unmissable one day event – entitled ‘A Contemporary Renaissance Awakening: Aesthetics in Implant Dentistry’ – will take place at the Royal College of Physicians in London on Friday, September 30, 2016.

As well as exploring the art of achieving aesthetics through the architecture of treatment planning and questioning the importance of material selection to imitate nature, the presentations will consider potential complications, the challenges of case predictability and how to manage patient expectations throughout their personal journey.

Refocus and renew

Throughout the day the speakers, including James Hamill, Pynadath George, Carlos Repullo Sanchez, Anthony Summerwill, Rob Lynock and Paul Swanson, will take delegates on a journey of awakening perceptions on contemporary aesthetics through the latest scientific and innovative clinical evidence within implant dentistry:

• James Hamill – The literal thinker
This session will touch upon the limitations of techniques and knowledge that have stood the test of time, and look at how the latest materials and scientific evidence challenge current thinking.

• Pynadath George – Architectural augmentation
The dentist becomes the architect and explores the importance of laying the solid foundations for successful implant placement and achieving optimum primary stability.

• Carlos Repullo Sanchez – Depict the beauty of nature
During this presentation, appreciate  the synergy between technology and nature through examination  of soft tissue response to implant surface technology on  implants and abutments.

• Anthony Summerwill and Rob Lynock – Sculpture and implant aesthetics
This seminar will consider how the restorative dentist and the ceramist work in harmony to produce results where art mimics nature.

• Paul Swanson – The art of immediate loading
This talk will explore the art of gently removing patients’  teeth, placing and immediate loading implants in a full arch, and the role of the dental team throughout the treatment process to minimise chair time and maximise the experience for the patient.

An interactive programme

This is an interactive day designed for a revival in thinking on the life changing impact clinical decisions have on the patient beyond the implant surgery. As part of this, at the beginning of each presentation the audience will be asked a multiple choice question related to the presentation. At the end, delegates will, once again, be asked the question to demonstrate the renaissance taking place – in essence, a renewal in thinking on how they will approach their implant cases going forward.
