The Invisible Orthodontist (TIO) has named Tim Donoghue as its new CEO. Tim has previously served as TIO’s chief operating officer. According to the organisation, he has stepped into the role at a pivotal time as it accelerates its mission to make orthodontic practices more efficient, profitable, and future-ready.
Nick Duncan, chairman of the board, said, “Tim is the right leader for this moment. He understands the pressure practice owners are under, and he’s laser-focused on the tools, strategies and systems that actually move the needle. This marks a return to what TIO has always done best: solving problems and shaping the future of private orthodontics. This next phase of TIO will be our boldest yet and Tim is the right person to lead it.”
Under Tim’s leadership, TIO is doubling down on its core mission: to lead the transformation of orthodontics globally through smarter systems, sharper tools, and a braver approach to growth. The company has already supported its members in implementing scalable systems like aligners, remote monitoring, team development, and private practice marketing. Now, Tim is focused on embedding the next generation of cutting-edge technologies directly into practice workflows, such as artifical intelligence (AI).
Tim commented, “Our members are the heart of everything we do. The Invisible Orthodontist has never just taught what to do, we build and embed the tools orthodontic organisations need to thrive at scale. Our mission is clear: scout, test, and deliver the most impactful technological solutions that solve real pain points and give our members a clear edge in a rapidly changing industry.
“We’re committed to staying at the forefront of transformation, as we have done for the last 15 years. I’m honored to lead this organisation into its next bold iteration, where technology and strategy come together to redefine what’s possible in orthodontics.”
