The second EFP Perio Master Clinic, taking place in Malta next March, looks set to be a sell out event. Over 400 of the 600 strictly limited places are now booked, attracting periodontists and dentistry professionals from across the world.

“Perio Master Clinic 2017 is aimed at bringing together dental clinicians with the desire to improve their skills in clinical practice to the highest levels of excellence. The faculty has been selected from leading experts and clinicians on peri-implant diseases,” explained chair, Korkud Demirel. “Our delegates will leave with an understanding of how such diseases can be avoided – and how to treat if required”.

A special point of interest is that, at registration, delegates can indicate their preference for areas to be discussed in the most depth. These preferences will be communicated to the speakers to ensure absolute relevance and audience engagement. In each session a moderator will provide some topic background and two world renowned speakers will support this with different, focused presentations. There will be seven sessions running over two days.

“We have chosen the theme of peri-implantitis quite specifically because it is a highly debated area of periodontitis”, commented scientific chair, Stefan Renvert. “The congress will focus on how to solve clinical problems related to peri-implantitis. Treatment modalities will be demonstrated in high end video presentations.” Renvert went on to explain that the world’s most famous master clinicians will deal with questions such as, ‘When do I treat and when do I remove an implant with peri-implantitis?’, ‘How do I regenerate bone in a defect around an implant?’ and ‘What do I do when bone augmentation material is infected?’.

The EFP Perio Master Clinic is a high level two day international congress devoted to the practical and clinical aspects of periodontal science that takes place every three years. It is a highly educational and valuable event for periodontists and all members of the dental team, including any health professional with an interest in gum health.
