Dental team members are invited to register now with Psynergy Mental Health to attend a free webinar this September, marking World Suicide Prevention Day on September 10, 2023, and raise awareness of where help is available for those who find themselves in crisis.
This is being hosted by Psynergy CEO, Ritesh Aggarwal (Rick), and COO, Danyal Akarca (Dan). Rick is a practising dentist and so has incredible insight into the day-to-day challenges of working in dentistry. Dan is a medical doctor by training, and works at the University of Cambridge, with insights into current research on topics relating to mental health.
Creating hope through action
Psynergy Mental Health’s aim is to change how organisational mental health is understood and can be improved.
Through their digital platform, leaders are empowered to create mentally healthy organisations that enable all to reach their potential through a personalised approach. Crucially, solutions are made specific to dental practices, are designed to be simple to implement, and are tailored over time to ensure maximum benefit.
Rick commented, "World Suicide Prevention Day offers us an opportunity to raise awareness of suicide and suicide prevention. During the webinar I will be linking in with the theme of ‘creating hope through action’.
“I will do this by reflecting on what we can all do in Dentistry to ensure that we are all appropriately supported and can form an open, kind culture, where people do not feel isolated and fall through the net.
“Encouraging understanding and sharing experiences creates a society where people have the confidence to take action, building hope for the future.”
This is not an isolated problem. One in four people in the UK will have a mental health problem at some point in their life. While mental health problems are very common, most are mild, tend to be short-term and can be successfully treated. Yet only one in eight people with a mental health condition are receiving appropriate treatment.
If you are struggling, please do ask for help from your GP, family and friends. If someone you know seems to be struggling, although it can feel very challenging, please offer them whatever support you can and assist them in seeking professional help.
