New head of dental division for MDDUS

15 June 2020

Stephen Henderson has been appointed the new head of dental division at indemnifier MDDUS.

Stephen has been with MDDUS as a dento-legal adviser since February 2018, having worked in the professional indemnity industry for almost 20 years prior to that.

In his position as head of dental, he will be integral to MDDUS’ efforts to support the existing body of dental members and expanding MDDUS’ dental membership base.

Stephen will take up post from today (Monday 15 June) and follows Aubrey Craig in this role, who steps into a new position at MDDUS as senior dento-legal adviser.

Stephen is a specialist in oral surgery and brings an extensive range of experience and expertise to the role as Head of MDDUS’s dental division, having first qualified in London in 1984.

Following five years in full-time hospital practice, he went in to general dental practice in Oxford. He continued to work part-time in the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Department of the John Radcliffe Hospital until 2000. Since then he developed his medico-legal career, becoming a full-time adviser in 2007, while he converted his practice to a largely private referral oral surgery practice. Until the restrictions put in place as a result of COVID-19, he worked as a visiting specialist in the same practice, and at a practice in Bedford.
