Orthodontic techniques for GDPs

'Limited Treatment Orthodontics' (LTO) will enable a GDP to undertake 'Social' Orthodontics with confidence in the knowledge that although you are not an orthodontic specialist you have direct access to one who will advise and assist whenever it is necessary during the entire period the treatment lasts.

This could well be a substantial boost to both your interest in dentistry and to the profits the practice makes.  LR Orthodontic Techniques recently added to their original appliance, 'LR Original', with 'LR Advance' (a fixed appliance technique) and 'LR Clear' (clear aligners). All of their appliances are offered in conjunction with their flagship service' LR Support'.

The first group of GDPs to attend the two day advance training course, which took place recently in Belfast, are now accredited to offer all appliances in their practices.

The course consists of some theory relating to orthodontic tooth movement, bracket positioning and 'Hands - On' tuition which will enable the attendee to place bands, brackets and arch wires and to be able to provide all the necessary information for case selection enabling accurate diagnosis and treatment planning to be provided by an LR orthodontic specialist to whom the case will be assigned. He will guide your selection of the correct appliance for the treatment proposed and you will be able to explain to your patients which is best for them before proceeding.
