Dentists and surgeons now have better access to state-of-the-art specialist medical imaging services in London.

Cavendish Imaging has moved its flagship facility to dedicated premises at 109 Harley Street.

The independent centre of excellence is equipped with the latest technology to provide high quality cone beam CT scans, 3D photographs and anatomical modelling.  The company has a wealth of expertise available on site, including IT support and laboratory services.

Cavendish Imaging has established a reputation for innovation, and is continually investing in the most advanced diagnostic technology.  Over the past six years, the company has purchased three Morita 3D Accuitomo 170 cone beam CT scanners for sites in London and Birmingham.

Veronique Sauret-Jackson, managing director, explains why the system was preferred for the new centre: “We chose this equipment because it is widely regarded as being the gold standard in cone beam CT.  The machine has settings for every possible situation and the image quality is of a very high standard.”

For more than a decade, the company has been providing a specialist service for dentists, maxillofacial surgeons, dental implant surgeons and orthodontists, as well as facial, plastic and ENT surgeons.  Sauret-Jackson continues, “The unparalleled experience that we have in cone beam CT imaging and planning means that we can confidently assist clinicians with the smallest imaging challenge to the most complex surgery.”

The new centre is focused on imaging of the head and neck and limbs. The team are able to provide improved results, with low X-ray dose, and increased speed and efficiency.

The modelling facility uses the latest technology to produce high resolution, rapid prototype models from any scan data, in as little as 24 hours. The team are particularly knowledgeable in this field. Cavendish Imaging is the only centre in the area to provide such an extensive range of services. These are offered to surgeons working all over the UK and internationally, in any speciality.

The London branch has a "walk-in" option for most examinations, with results available immediately.  The company also has cone beam CT scanning facilities at centres in Birmingham, Nottingham and Oxford.

The technical department offers a number of image management, planning and software solutions and hardware recommendations for dental implant, maxillofacial, craniofacial, plastic and orthopaedic surgery.

Implant dentists have the opportunity to find out more about how the use of CBCT has transformed everyday diagnosis and treatment planning, at a corporate forum prior to the Association of Dental Implantology 2015 Congress in Glasgow.  Andrew Dawood, clinical director of Cavendish Imaging, is co-presenting a lecture with Shanon Patel, a specialist endodontist.  They will be discussing the benefits of 3D imaging in implant dentistry and how CBCT scanning can help practitioners to determine whether to retain teeth or to replace them with dental implants.

Built in Japan by J Morita Manufacturing Corporation, Morita cone beam CT scanners provide world-renowned image quality. They give dentists confidence of high definition, distortion-free pictures.  The technology is proving increasingly valuable in implant dentistry, endodontics, and oral surgery diagnosis and treatment planning.
