Following the 'living with covid' plans recently announced by the government, Sara Hurley, chief dental officer for England, has issued a statement.
It reads, "I understand there may be questions about any immediate implications of the government’s announcement yesterday.
"For the time being the UKHSA’s infection prevention control guidelines and the NHS Standard Operating Procedure remain in place.
"Until further notice, dental practices should continue to operate in line with these publications and for NHS contracted practices as detailed in the latest NHS contractual notice of December 22 (https://www.england.nhs.uk/coronavirus/wp-content/uploads/sites/52/2021/12/C1462-key-steps-in-2022-to-deliver-for-patients-in-NHS-dentistry-december-2021.pdf).
"We will keep you informed of further developments and changes."
