ITV’s Coronation Street actress Alison King definitely had something to smile about at the TV Choice Awards on September 7.

The actress not only walked away with the Best Soap Actress award for playing Weatherfield’s distressed businesswoman Carla Connor, but also had a gleaming IPS e.max smile to match her dazzling outfit.

Blaming her thumb sucking habit as a child for needing six teeth crowned ten years ago at a London dental practice, former dental nurse Alison wasn’t left with the smile she deserved: “As an actress onscreen I’d began to notice how my top and bottom front teeth had been pushed into the middle where my thumb had been! The inside bottom four teeth around the gum line were much shorter than the rest of the teeth. It was during my time at drama school that I decided to undergo cosmetic surgery at a dental practice in London, however I wasn’t completely satisfied with the final result and always felt that there was room for improvement.”

It was Alison’s former colleagues, dentist John Hewitt, at City Centre Dental Practice, Manchester and dental technician, Jonathan Asquith from Dentechnica, Manchester, who came to the rescue. “The treatment Alison originally had did not address the aesthetics fully. Gingival contouring was not performed for initial surgery, leaving the aesthetic zone incomplete. We highlighted the improvements we could make to her smile and were delighted when she agreed.”exclaimed John.

The actresses’ aesthetic zone was completely re-evaluated by John and Jonathan as they focused on addressing the gingival contours. With John Hewitt’s expert prepping and reduction of the gum line to match the other lower teeth, combined with Jonathan Asquith’s creativity and skilled precision with the latest materials, they made and fitted what Alison could only describe as “perfect teeth that looked natural and just like my own - but better!”

In just one week, Alison underwent a crown lengthening procedure to support the new IPS e.max crown restorations. Treatment time, from start to finish, took just two appointments to create the smile she deserved. “I wanted a smile that didn’t look out of character, and together John and Jonathan really did make happen what other dentist’s had said was impossible. I'm truly indebted to them forever and smiling happily!”said Alison.

Built upon ten years of scientific case studies assessing its successful performance and reliability, IPS e.max system boasts a 96.8 per cent survival rate and over 40m on fabricated restorations worldwide. It is for this reason that celebrities like Alison King and Tulisa Contostavlos chose the system for their smile makeovers.
