Talking up a storm

The Dentistry Show in April sees the launch of a new Sonicare for Kids which aims to make a connection with new generation, tech savvy youngsters. 

Its launch will be heralded by Thayalan Kandiah who will be on the Phillips stand at the launch at 9.00 am on April 22.

The exciting new brush will be revealed at the show for the first time in the UK, but Philips has provided a teaser in advance which shows some impressive claims can be made about it including the fact that when surveyed, 91 per cent of dental professionals who are also parents preferred Sonicare for Kids as their child’s primary toothbrush because of its ease of use, whilst 93 per cent were highly satisfied with its cleaning performance.

Philips has also lined up a rolling series of talks on its stand throughout the Dentistry Show, as well as fielding experts in the Perio Lounge and Hygienists & Therapist sessions.

Those joining Philips Oral Healthcare on stand L40 to speak include:

  • Thayalan Kandiah, paediatric dentist, to underline the importance of developing tools to encourage improved oral health and compliance in children.  He will also provide a hands-on opinion of the new Sonicare for Kids.
  • Nigel Young who leads tooth whitening R&D for Philips at its Cambridge research centre will be enlightening delegates on the latest research Philips is conducting into tooth whitening.
  • Andrew Wallace, award winning tooth whitening expert, returns to the Dentistry Show to talk about tooth whitening for practice development.
  • Jessica Hulme, dental hygienist and new professional relations manager at Philips Oral Healthcare, will be talking about biofilm.      

 

Delegates who attend the stand talks will also receive a free goodie bag with a value of £100. (subject to availability)

With Philips’ support two of the leading authorities in their fields will be taking to the main stage to address Dentistry Show delegates:

  • Mhari Coxon, pioneering dental hygienist  will be addressing the Hygienists and Therapist session at 9.40-10.40 on April 22.
  • Professor Philip Preshaw, specialist in periodontics, will be lecturing in the PerioLounge on April 22, at 14.55 -15.40, about periodontal disease, diabetes and research into saliva diagnostics.
