Dental implants, and in particular ‘all on 4’ implants, are becoming significantly more popular, and as understanding of biofilm management is changing, the response must be a change in practice. Hygienists and therapists are likely to become the frontline clinicians in identifying failing implants during maintenance care, and so a good working protocol of implant maintenance is essential to ensure that all clinical professionals can contribute towards implant longevity. This hands-on workshop will allow hygienists and therapists to develop their skills with technology which could aid treatment and enhance communication skills to increase patient motivation.
A range of hands on sessions will be held throughout the day covering topics such as, but not limited to, ‘Current concept in biofilm’ and ‘Utilising ultrasonic and fluorescent technology around implants and teeth’. All profits from the conference will also go towards the BADT and BSDHT’s Right to Prescribe Campaign, which is raising funds for dental therapists and hygienists to be allowed to utilise certain treatments, such as fluoride varnish and local anaesthetic without the need for a prescription from a dentist.
