Dentists from around the world will be mixing leading training with the chance to watch the world’s best golfers next month.

The Dawson Academy UK at Buckle Advanced Dental Care (BADC) is offering dentists the opportunity to participate on its latest educational programme.

The Dawson Alumni Retreat takes place from Thursday July 17 until Saturday July 19 and includes a full programme of functional and aesthetic dentistry.

During their stay the delegates will have the chance to attend the Open Golf Championship at Royal Liverpool, a few miles away from the Academy’s headquarters in Thornton Hough, Wirral.

The course will be hosted by Ian Buckle – the only European faculty member of the US based Dawson Academy and will include lectures on Temporandibular Disorders, the placement and re-contouring of anterior provisional restorations and the use of technology in complete dentistry.

Guest speakers will include three Americans, leading cosmetic and restorative dentist Ken Hamlett, dean at Louisiana State University School of Dentistry Henry Gremillion and DeWitt Wilkerson, senior faculty member of The Dawson Academy. All attending delegates will receive 12+ CPD hours.

The Wirral is a golfer’s paradise and attending dentists will be able to play a round of golf at one of the area’s top golf courses. All delegates will also be able to enjoy an afternoon at the Open.

Ian Buckle said that over the past 12 months the Academy has welcomed dentists from as far afield as Sweden, Spain, Greece, Denmark, India, Ukraine and Russia to the the Wirral practice.

He said: “We’re delighted to be able to welcome delegates to the Wirral for our latest programme of functional and aesthetic dentistry and for keen golfers it is hopefully an extra bonus that the course coincides with the Open Golf Championship.

“Holding seminars in the UK has meant that dentists in Europe can now access the same quality of training and education as our American colleagues.”
