From June 2025, all new and existing patients will be able to pay with their Amex card at any Bupa dental practice across the UK. With more than 360 locations, Bupa Dental Care is one of the UK’s leading dental providers, offering general dentistry, orthodontics, implants, and specialist care pathways linked to its wider healthcare network.
This comes at a time when attitudes toward dental care are changing, with more people prioritising their oral health as part of their overall wellbeing. The private dental sector has seen significant growth – private general dentistry grew by 58 per cent between 2020 and 2024, with a further 22 per cent increase projected by 2029. Cosmetic dentistry has also surged, expanding by 42 per cent over the same period and expected to grow another 14 per cent by 2029.
Mark Allan, general manager for Bupa Dental, said, "At Bupa, we want to help people take control of their dental health, which plays a vital role in overall wellbeing. Providing patients with greater choice and convenience is key to this. That’s why we’re excited to partner with American Express, a brand known for trust, innovation, and exceptional service, to reach even more people and support better health across the nation.”
Dan Edelman, general manager, UK Merchant Services at American Express, commented, “Amex is now accepted for payment at more locations than ever before in the UK, and we’re committed to ensuring our cardmembers can use their Amex card at the places they want to spend. We’re delighted that Bupa Dental practices can now welcome the spending power of Amex cardmembers.”
