Viral video success

If you were at the BACD Annual Conference this year, you might have had the chance to become part of a viral video.

On Friday afternoon, Gary Takacs encouraged delegates to take part in the Mannequin Challenge as part of his ‘Dentistry Rocks’ session. This involved the entire lecture room posing absolutely motionless while being recorded, in a scene reminiscent of something out of a sci-fi film!

The Mannequin Challenge is the latest viral trend – akin to the famous Harlem Shake or the Ice Bucket Challenge – and Gary used it to show delegates how video marketing could be used to help promote their dental practices to a wider audience.

The challenge – which was even taken up by Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign – was a fun way of providing dental professionals with quality education and it was great to see so many people getting involved and posing for the camera.
