Why Children’s Oral Health is Everybody’s Business – RCPCH and CDO partner-up for conference

Volume 31 · Issue 6

The RCPCH has partnered with the Office of the Chief Dental Officer and the British Society for Paediatric Dentistry to develop a one-day conference at the Museum of London on the 25th January, 2018.

The conference will explore the issue of children’s oral health and its importance to everyone. The conference will also cover effective approaches in helping to encourage positive oral health in children and the wider population.

It is vital for any professional working with children to recognise the signs of deteriorating dental health and take the appropriate action. If spotted too late it could have a detrimental effect on a young person’s future.

Baroness Floella Benjamin, OBE, and co-chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on A Fit and Healthy Childhood, will be delivering the key note address at this important event. Joining the Baroness is Sara Hurley, chief dental officer for England, and a selection of impressive speakers who will give presentations that cover topics such as inequalities in children’s oral health, safeguarding issues in children’s dentistry, and the need for innovation in meeting the challenge of improving children’s oral health. These presentations represent just a part of the impressive schedule, and attendees will be given the opportunity to engage with the speakers via panel debates which will accept audience questions.
